WealthInfer ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application, website, and services. This policy applies for as long as we hold your information, including after the termination of your account.

  • Financial Data: Bank account balances, transactions, and account details accessed through Plaid
  • Device Information: Device type, operating system, and app usage data

  • Error logs and performance data

  • To provide and maintain our financial tracking services
  • To calculate your net worth and display account balances
  • To send important notifications and alerts

4. We Do Not Sell Your Data

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. Your data is used solely to provide and improve our services. We may share anonymized, aggregated data that cannot be used to identify individuals for analytics and reporting purposes.

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to provide our App:

  • Plaid: To securely connect to your financial institutions and retrieve account data. When you link your bank accounts, your information is shared with Plaid in accordance with their privacy policy.
  • Cloud Hosting: For secure cloud hosting, data storage, email communications, and SMS services. All data is stored in Canada.
  • Bank of Canada: Exchange rates are provided by the Bank of Canada Valet API for currency conversion purposes.
  • Analytics Services: We use analytics tools to understand how users interact with our App and website to improve our services.

These service providers are contractually obligated to protect your data and may only use it for the purposes we specify.

6. Data Storage and Location

Your personal information is stored and processed in Canada using secure cloud infrastructure. All data remains in Canada unless otherwise noted for a specific service. Your data is subject to Canadian laws and regulations, including the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

7. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including:

  • End-to-end encryption for sensitive data in transit and at rest
  • Secure token storage for bank connections (we never store your bank credentials)
  • Two-factor authentication (TOTP) available for your account
  • Regular security audits and monitoring
  • Access controls limiting employee access to data on a need-to-know basis

8. Your Security Responsibilities

To protect your account, we encourage you to:

  • Enable two-factor authentication in your account settings
  • Use a strong, unique password for WealthInfer
  • Never share your password with anyone
  • Limit access to your devices and browsers
  • Log out after using WealthInfer on shared devices

Important: We will never ask you for your password in any unsolicited communication (such as emails, phone calls, or text messages). If you receive such a request, please report it to us immediately.

9. Data Breach Notification

In the event of a security breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you via email as soon as practicable. We maintain incident response procedures to address any security incidents promptly and effectively.

10. Children's Privacy

Our App is not intended for individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that a child under 18 has provided us with personal information, we will take steps to delete such information promptly. If you believe we have collected information from a minor, please contact us immediately.

11. Marketing Communications

From time to time, we may send you emails about WealthInfer products, services, or features that may interest you. You can opt-out of marketing communications at any time by:

Please note that you will continue to receive transactional emails regarding your account, such as verification codes, security alerts, and important service notifications.

12. PIPEDA Compliance

As a Canadian company, we comply with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). You have the right to:

  • Access your personal information in our custody
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Withdraw consent and delete your account
  • Export your data at any time through the App settings

13. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. Upon account deletion, all personal data is permanently removed from our active systems within 30 days. Some data may be retained in backup systems for up to 90 days before being securely deleted. We may retain certain information as required by law or for legitimate business purposes.
